Serious Game
Gabarello
Gabarello is a physiotherapeutic serious game designed for children with lower-body motor impairments. It enhances pediatric robot-assisted gait therapy by transforming the Lokomat® rehabilitation robot from a purely therapeutic device into a full-body game controller. The game reacts to the patient’s walking biofeedback using adjustable thresholds, which can be fine-tuned by the therapist. Gameplay adapts dynamically to the patient’s effort, supporting motivation and active participation in the rehabilitation process.
The Lokomat® is a world-leading robot-assisted gait therapy for people with severely impaired walking ability. It is is aimed at patients who are restricted in their ability to walk as a result of a stroke, multiple sclerosis or a spinal cord injury, among other things.
