Play Unfolding is an ongoing research project and a forthcoming book by Florian Faller on design, digital media and contemporary theories of play. It develops a new understanding of play as a process of unfolding rather than as a property of players or games. Drawing on design practice, philosophy, aesthetics and digital media, the book proposes a multimodal account of play that extends beyond gameplay and anthropocentric accounts of agency.
